Welcome to the links section of the Robotech Comic Universe website. From here, you can take off to some of the better Robotech websites I've visited in my years of fandom. If you'd like to suggest a site, feel free to e-mail me a link to it at scwonkey@hotmail.com.
Rumors about the circumstances of Wildstorm's acquisition of the license - Buried in a regular column, so search for the word "Robotech" when you get there!
Rumors about the circumstances of Dreamwave's loss of the license - Buried in a regular column, so search for the word "Robotech" when you get there!
The Robotech Page - The former center of Robotech fandom on the internet, now merely a shell of its former self. There's still some good information to be had here, but as of this writing it hasn't been updated in nearly a year, and their link to THIS site is hopelessly out of date. Still, you've gotta admit, Tim has a way with web design ...
The RDF-HQ Communications Center - When the message board of The Robotech Page (see above) was crashed beyond repair in late 2000 by a horrible, sad little man who will remain nameless, most of the regulars began hanging out at this forum. Not the most active Robotech message forum in the world, but most of the regulars tend to know what they're talking about, which is always a plus. If Robotech.com's forums aren't meeting all your Robotech conversational needs, feel free to drop on by!
The Unofficial Robotech Reference Guide - If you haven't heard the name Peter Walker before, you haven't been in Robotech internet fandom long enough. This is the website he and his friends and allies started as an overblown glossary for his fanfic, "Objective Reflex Point". And of course, in order to make the most accurate glossary possible, he and his buds did tons upon tons of research in a variety of fairly reputable sources. Then, when the research couldn't help them and there simply was no information on a subject, they just outright made stuff up. While their mechanical data is simply without parallel, and their essays on the Local Group worlds from Sentinels are rather nicely done, I still have to disagree with their timeline, and some of that stuff they concocted for their Tirol essay is just odd. Absolutely worth a look for any serious Robotech fan, but take most of it (basically anything they don't outright cite) with a grain of salt.
Robotech Roundtable - This site serves as both the online home of Evan Cass's excellent Robotech fanzine Emissaries, as well as another good forum to chat about the past, present, and future of the Robotech universe. Not much, but well worth a look.
Opus' Robotech: Crystal Dreams N64 - Ever wonder what happened to that Nintendo 64 Robotech video game that was in the works? Read all about it from the mouth of one of the guys who was designing it--the writer of the game's storyline, in fact. Heck, if you've got a good enough computer and an agreeable enough N64 emulator, you can even try out a ROM of the unfinished game just to bask in what could have been. A great resource for one of Robotech's many unfortunately aborted projects.
The AntiKevs - The most definitive guide to the many bugs and errors that plague Palladium Books' old ROBOTECH Role Playing Game, which includes most of the mecha and vehicles that original RPG author Kevin Siembieda left out and corrects most of his factual and logistical errors as well. Doesn't look to have been updated in a couple of years, but considering the present state of the ROBOTECH RPG, that's not surprising. Still, an excellent resource and very well written to boot (though sometimes not very well typed).
Robotech: Evolution - Taking place a couple of decades after the original Robotech TV series, this is bar none the absolute BEST Robotech continuation fanfiction on the internet. Take the rest of the day off, click on the link above, and enjoy!
Japanese website with full scans of the Clone Special - The things you find when you tinker around on-line long enough ... this is a Japanese webpage with full scans of Academy Comics' 40-page ROBOTECH Clone special by Rosearik Rikki and John Scharmen. Weird, but worth a look if you're interested in ROBOTECH's goth-styled comic-only fourth generation.
Japanese website with full scans of Clone #3 and #4 - More ROBOTECH Clone full scan fun from across the Pacific, this time complete with Japanese language translations off to one side! This page takes forever to load unless you're on a broadband connection, but again, if you're interested in the American-penned ROBOTECH generation that Rikki and Wolfgarth built, well worth a peek!
