Breetai is a classic example of the bio-genetic breeding techniques of the Robotech Masters. He is a creature totally dedicated to the discipline of his Masters. He is an amoral personality, who lives for the conquest and the thrill of combat. This leader of an expeditionary Armada of Zentraedi warships has been bred to maek no decisions other than military ones. His world view changes through his contact with the humans who are in possession of the lost Robotech Battleship known as the SDF-1. Referring to humans as Micronians (the Zentraedi are a race of giants nearly 60 feet tall), Breetai is forced to acknowledge the wisdom and sincerity of his enemies. Eventually he rejects his Zentraedi heritage and joins with the humans in their cause.

Breetai's height in the ROBOTECH Role Playing Game is listed at 69 feet; of course, it is obvious that Breetai is an extraordinarily tall Zentraedi (see size comparison chart on page 1-19). However, this figure doesn't quite mesh with the height of a Zentraedi Tactical Battlepod listed on page 1-36 (repeated on page 1-37), which is 40 feet. The question becomes, how do you fit a 60-foot soldier into a 40-foot tall vehicle, especially when most of those 40 feet consist solely of the vehicle's long and spindly legs?

Naturally, you don't--the figure for one or the other has to be wrong. At the end of episode 2, "Countdown", Roy says the following line in response to Rick's comment that the Zentraedi look just like human beings:

Roy: Yeah, if you ever saw a human fifty feet tall.

Since Roy was involved in the development of the Veritech Fighter, he should know how tall the enemy it was designed to fight is. However, Roy's account isn't entirely accurate either as far as the animation footage itself is concerned; according to the original SUPER DIMENSION FORTRESS MACROSS animation materials, Breetai is only 44' 6", and again, he's one of the taller Zentraedi clones. While this height is not in agreement with most printed ROBOTECH source materials, it is the height the original animators had in mind when they produced the TV series, and thus most of the better-made episodes accurately reflect it.
