In the Attack Mode as seen here, the SDF-1 is a powerful weapons system. Its main guns are capable of destroying thousands of targets in a single energy blast. There is also a pin-point barrier system which is in effect when the ship is in the Attack Mode. A modification of this system itself becomes a weapon as the crew of the SDF-1 learns more about this mysterious vessel.
